Dress Styles for Prom 2021
Prom season is here, and with the lack of proms allowed to go ahead in 2020, we are all ready for our dose of fabulous prom dresses. Every year we see different styles coming out, so what should we expect from our 2021 prom attendees? Keep reading for some of the most popular prom styles for 2021.
What are the prom 2021 trends?
Two-piece
Two-piece prom dresses became all the rage a few years ago, and the love for them hasn’t died down. They are a great way to add something a bit different to your prom dress, while still having a classic style and elegant prom feeling.
Prom dresses that feature a top and a bottom are becoming a popular choice for many. They are a great way to mix and match your top and bottom, without being restricted to the design of a traditional one-piece dress. You could try a long, traditional satin skirt paired with a sheer lace top, creating a unique combination that you are unlikely to find in a more traditional dress.
You can also buy two-piece options that come with a coordinating top and bottom, so the colour and material are the same but it still offers a different style to the one-piece option. The skin showing at the midriff is a great addition and does wonders for showing off your figure.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to two piece prom dresses, and you can play around with different styles until you find your perfect combination.
Ball gown
New trends come and go, but ball gowns will never go out of style. For people who have always dreamed of having that princess look, ball gowns are the perfect option. The dresses have a voluminous skirt that would wow anybody, and you can get them in a range of different colours and designs to suit your own unique look.
Differing from the usual pastel tones we see at prom, there seems to be more jeweled tone ball gowns out there. Deep purples and greens are regal looking colours, really adding that regal feeling to the traditional ball gown.
Whether you are looking for long sleeves, strapless, or spaghetti straps, there are so many different styles of ball downs out there. You can also choose from slightly different silhouettes for your skirt, depending on how big of an impact you want to make!
High-low
High-low dresses have been around for a while now, though they have been going in and out of popularity. Recently though, we have seen them rise to the forefront once again. The look involves a higher front hemline, and then drops long at the back to create a flowy look.
These dresses come in many different styles and materials, perfect for anyone looking for a fun statement prom dress that will stand out from the crowd. More recently these high-low dresses have had more unique options coming out, such as featuring an asymmetrical hemline. This gives the dress a fuller look, while showing off a different design that hasn’t been seen much before in prom dresses.
Whether you wear something new and unique, or stick with the timeless ball gown, there will be no shortage of beautiful prom dresses out there in 2021.
